Lupo, Thomas: The Four-Part Consort Music

edited by Richard Charteris.

Following the success of our republication of Professor Charteris' 1987 edition of the Three-Part Consort Music for Boethius Press we are pleased now to offer a new edition by him of the Four-Part Consorts. These too were first published by Boethius (in 1983) but have long been unavailable, and this new publication represents a complete re-analysis of all the sources, as well as computer typesetting and re-barring from 2/2 into the now customary 4/2. The music is equally as varied in style as the Three-Parts, including Fantasy, 'Air' and dance sections and presents another rich selection of compositions from the household of Prince Charles, making fascinating comparison with those of Coprario, Ferrabosco and Gibbons.
