Cristoforo (Cristofano) Malvezzi (1547-1599), a leading Florentine musician, contributed many of the pieces; other composers represented were Peri and Cavalieri.The music for the event was published two years later by Giacomo Vincenti in Venice under the title Intermedii // et concerti Fatti per la Commedia rappresentata in Firenze / Nelle Nozze del Serenissimo Don Ferdinando Medici/ e Madama Christiana di Loreno ... together with some descriptions of the event.In this edition the original note values have been halved in the second piece, retained in the first. A few editorial accidentals appear above the stave, applying to the one note only.
