This edition offers a wide range of performance options for voices, viols and/or recorders The score for this edition presents Monteverdi's superb third book at the original pitch: to provide a greater variety of timbre for viol players, the parts for ten of the 20 madrigals have been transposed down a fourth, a valid historical procedure. Parts are provided in viol clefs and in vocal clefs. A score of the 10 transposed madrigals is also available. Forthcoming: parts for the 10 transposed madrigals at original pitch!
