D´ung aultre amer (4 settings)

for 3 instruments.

Ockeghem´s D´ung aultre amer was one of a select list of pieces favoured by Franco-Flemish musicians c. 1500 for instrumental reworkings. The original rondeau can be found in an earlier title in this series (EML 341). Altogether 17 arrangements of Ockeghem´s famous piece have survived (excluding masses), including some by composers as distinguished as Alexander Agricola and Pierre de la Rue. In some of these settings D´ung aultre amer is combined with other current melodies, such as L´homme armé or Cela sans plus. We will be including two rather fine five-part settings later in this series.
In this edition the original note values have been halved throughout. Editorial accidentals are printed small above the stave, applying to the one note only. For the sake of convenience, the original accidentals, printed on the stave, are taken as applying to the whole bar until contradicted.
